BAR MEXICO

Bar Mexico is a Mexican Tequila Bar located in an old food hall in the lively, northern suburb of Preston, Melbourne. The existing venue was a large warehouse space with multiple kitchens, existing bar equipment and a mix of furniture which we endeavoured to use as much possible to reduce waste and achieve an eclectic feel.

We combined the kitchen into one larger, show kitchen with a new long service counter and overhead display, important to the chef to showcase her high quality products.

The bar equipment was all in place, so we clad the bar and build a new back bar in a relaxed, hacienda style that then filtered throughout the entire venue.

It was a fantastic collaboration between SBD, the builder and client to achieve an exciting new venue within a very tight budget. It was also a great chance to combine Steph’s illustration skills by designing a feature mural at the entrance.
