HOTEL MEXICO

Hotel Mexico is the second location in the Mexican Tequila Bar family, situated in a repurposed pub in the Melbourne suburb of Yarraville. The pub featured a large existing kitchen, an outdoor beer garden, and some existing furniture. As with the first location, we aimed to incorporate as many of these elements as possible, minimizing waste while maintaining the eclectic vibe.

A brand-new bar was installed, and both the back-of-house areas and kitchens were upgraded. We also transformed the previously unused upstairs space into a cozy bar and seating area, perfect for private functions.

The hacienda theme continues throughout, and, once again, the collaboration between SBD, the builder, and the client turned this once tired pub into an exciting new venue. It also provided another great opportunity to create a larger feature mural, this time as a focal point in the beer garden, alongside a map of Mexico’s tequila regions as an internal artwork in the bar.
